What We Believe

(Our Complete Doctrinal Statement Below)

God and Trinity

There is one God, who created all things, who is infinitely perfect, existing in three persons; the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Gen. 1:1, Deut. 6:4, John 10:30, 1Cor. 8:6

The Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the divinely inspired Word of God, the supreme and final authority for man, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God breathed.

2 Tim. 3:16, 17, John 16:13, 2 Pet. 1:20, 21, John 1:1

Jesus Christ

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. His purpose was to reveal God and redeem sinful man. He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross, as a substitutionary sacrifice, the just for the unjust, and all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed blood. Jesus Christ physically arose from the dead, according to the scripture. He is now in Heaven, exalted at the right hand of God, serving as High Priest, Intercessor and Advocate for His people. He will come again to establish His kingdom in righteousness and peace.

John 1:1, 2, 14, 1 Pet. 1:3-5, Heb. 7:25, 9:24, John 10:28, Rom. 8:34

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, co-equal with God in all of His attributes, and is sent by the Lord Jesus Christ from the Father to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and judgment, to regenerate, indwell, guide and teach the believer and to empower the believer to live in victory over sin.

John 15:26, John 16:7-9

Man as Sinner

Man is created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, became alienated from God, inherited a sinful nature, and is unable by his own strength to remedy his lost condition.

Gen. 1:27, Eph. 2:1, Rom. 3:23

Salvation is the gift of God, given to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who precious blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins.

John 1:12, Eph. 2:8, 9, Eph. 1:7 Titus 3:5

Assurance of Salvation

The redeemed once saved, can know salvation is a present possession and are kept by God’s power and thus secure in Christ forever.

John 10:28, 29, Rom. 8:35-39, 1 John 5:13

The church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.

Eph. 1:22, 23, Eph. 5:23, Matt. 28:19, 20, Col. 1:18 Mark 16:15

Ordinances of the Church

There are two ordinances of the church; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The Lord’s Supper is the commemoration of our Lord’s death until He returns and our continual fellowship with Him. Baptism is a public expression of the spiritual rebirth as a result of accepting Jesus Christ as personal Savior.

Col. 2:12, Matt. 28:19-20, 1 Cor. 11:23-26

Satan is a person, who is the open and declared enemy of God and man.

Job 1:6, 7, Is. 14:12-17, Matt. 4:2-11

Hell is the eternal separation from God, resulting in conscious misery and punishment forever.
Luke 16:24, 2 Thess. 1:7-9, Jude 7

The Rapture and Tribulation

The Rapture is the blessed hope of the Church and is the calling up of every true believer from the earth to be with Jesus Christ forever. The tribulation is a time of unprecedented suffering which will be inflicted upon the whole world.
1 Thess. 4:13-18,   Matt. 24:21, 22,   Rev. 3:10,   Rev. 6:16, 17,   l Thess. 1:10, 5:9

Second Coming of Jesus Christ

The great tribulation will be climaxed by the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth to institute His Thousand Year Kingdom.

Zech. 14:4-9,   Matt. 24:30,   2 Thess. 1:7-10,   2 Thess. 2:8, 9

The Obligation of Believers

All believers should love the Lord their God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and body and their neighbors as themselves.  Each believer should conduct their lives in a manner that is pleasing to God.  Every believer is to be a witness by their deeds and words.  All believers should proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the world.

Matt. 22:37-39,   Matt. 28:19, 20,   Col. 1:10,   Eph. 2:10

Gifts of the Spirit

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given for the equipping of all believers to build up the body of Christ which is the Church.

1 Pet. 4:10, 11,   I Cor. 12,   Eph. 4:12

Marriage and Family

We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a union exclusively between a man and a woman for life.  Children are a precious gift from God and are to be loved and trained according to the Word of God.

Gen. 2:24,   Rom. 7:2, 3,   I Cor. 7:2-4, 10-14,   Matt. 5:31, 32,   Ps 127:3-5,   Heb. 13:4,   Deut. 11:19,   Pr. 22:6

Sanctity of Life

The structure of the family is designed by God, and both abortion and homosexuality are contrary to the will of God.  Jesus demonstrated great love and concern for the poor and needy and instructed believers to provide for their physical and spiritual needs.

Ps. 127:3-5,   Rom. 1:24-32,   I Cor. 6:9, 10,   Matt. 25:34-46,   Matt. 26:11,    Pr. 19:17
